IMPORTANT DEADLINE NOTICE

The filing deadline for Homestead Exemptions is April 1 . You can apply anytime during the year preceding the April 1 deadline to be eligible.

You must apply for Homestead exemptions in order to be eligible. However, you only need to apply once unless there is a change in ownership or primary residence. Exemptions do not transfer. In order to apply for income related exemptions you must provide proof of any income your household had from any source during the previous year. This may include:

OTHER EXEMPTIONS/COVENANTS

Covenants can only be applied for from January 1 – April 1 or during the 45-day appeal period after assessment notices are mailed.

CITY TAXES

The City of Gainesville and other municipalities do not credit Regular Homestead Exemption.
